Our Story
Welcome to Waters Edge Winery of Norfolk! We hope to give you a great experience unlike any other when you visit our full production craft Winery. The Waters Edge Winery of Norfolk was brought to life from a deeply ingrained love for great wine, great food and time well spent with friends and family. This winery is family owned by Jason & Dyan Witt who moved to Norfolk while Jason was on active duty with the Navy.

We rented out a private dining room for our wedding reception and it was one of the best decisions we made! Not only were they very accommodating and easy to work with, but we heard from our guests that both Alicia and Amber were kind and willing to help. They checked in to make sure that guests were ok and went beyond expectations. Even when we initially got to the venue, we were immediately given water and a place to hide as bride and groom! It was one of the best nights of my life and Alicia and Amber were such a big part of making it successful and fun! The food was also delicious and our guests enjoyed the selections. Do not hesitate to book as I assure you would not forget it!

Wife and I ate here tonight. Food was fantastic. Shrimp app, braised beef entree and shrimp tortellini entree. All were amazing. Beef was fork tender. Tortellini was flavorful. Fav wine was the chard. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to go back.

The owner/ wine maker and the server was so amazing! Theu created a whole experience of wine… from learning the process to understanding the difference in wine. My experience was amazing! The place sits beautifully on a corner. The place was beautiful on the inside. I was greeted with a smile. Nikki our server/bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable. The owner was there came out to greet us offered us tasting of his freshly brewed wine, gave us a tour answered any questions we had. Extremely nice I would DEFINITELY go back and recommend.

Waters Edge Winery is truly a hidden gem. The coastal aesthetic immediately sets the mood, with beautiful shades of blue that make you feel as though you’re sailing along the ocean while sipping a glass of their finest wine. The atmosphere is inviting, and the service was wonderful and accommodating throughout our visit.I also loved the shorter, thoughtfully selected menu. Sometimes you don’t need endless choices you just need really good ones! The crab dip was so good I could not stop eating it. We also ordered the Pesto Chicken and pepperoni flatbreads, and everything from the starters to the entrées was delicious.I loved the raspberry peach sangria. I especially enjoyed learning about how their wines are created in-house, which added something special to the experience.From the coastal atmosphere and great service to the food and wine, Waters Edge Winery is a gem that I highly recommend.

Great experience. Our wonderful waitress was very informative about the wine selections. I will definitely want to visit again. The staff is very welcoming and attentive. This is a great establishment. The watermelon and raspberry peach and pineapple flavors are really good and if you’re not that hungry and want to just take the edge off. You should get the board with assorted meats, strawberries, blueberries, assorted cheeses and chocolate.

This place is so amazing. I've been in the Hampton roads area for 5 years and this has been the best food I've ever tasted. Not one item on the menu was bad. Every single thing we ordered was perfect. The couple that own the place are prior military. And it's nice to have a place to go eat that a Helo Pilot has started.

I recently had my wedding reception at Waters Edge and I cant express how wonderful the entire experience was beginning to end. The days before our wedding the weather turned ugly and our outdoor reception had to be moved inside, Jason the owner made sure that our party was taken care of and what felt like a wedding catastrophe (no bride wants to change an entire reception 3 days before the wedding) ended up making for an absolute magical night. The winery went above and beyond to give us a spectacular night. The food, the service and the environment were all outstanding. I cant recommend them enough whether it be for an event or just a night out. Alwo I definitely recommend the peach glazed salmon! You won't regret it

We had a dinner planned at another venue but had a last minute cancellation. A contact gave us the name of this owner and we took a chance. On 5 hours notice, the owner and a visiting chef with a manager came in and provided an excellent 4 course meal that greatly exceded all expectation. The owner (Jason) managaged to pull this together on such short notice and put on a fantastic event. Me and my sister went here for lunch one day and the food and service was outstanding. Our plates were professionally plated and the Sous Chef Michelle came and checked on us periodically to see how the food was. She was extremely personable and anything we wanted fixed or changed she was on it immediately. I definitely recommend this for a light lunch and aesthetics.Thank you so much for your service Michelle for the amazing customer service you provided to us the food was great!. I definitely recommend coming here also if you want a super flavorful wine to go with your meal, me and my sister ended up taking some home from their beautiful gift shop.

Beautiful venue with a great atmosphere.In Virginia Beach, celebrating our anniversary, my wife and I decided to venture away from the crowds to this place, and we were so glad we did. We had reservations for 8:30, but decided to show up and hour early and were seated immediately.This night they had live music, a guitarist, that helped to add more mellowness to the mood. The food was great from the zesty grilled shrimp appetizer paired with the peach sangria, to the peach glazed salmon with the Sauvignon blanc, and the braised beef with the Cabernet. We honestly couldn’t get enough of the food. The service was great, and we can’t say enough good things about this place.It was a 20 minute ride from our hotel in VA Beach town center (about 35 minutes from the waterfront) if you want a great atmosphere without the crowd.

Every dish I tried was full of flavor and clearly crafted with care. Whether you’re stopping in for a casual glass of wine or a full evening out, this spot delivers. After looking at the offers for their membership i realized it would be silly of me not to sign up. I get free wine monthly; extreme discounts and more offers. Just goes to show there are still places that care for the community and not just making a quick buck. This just became one of my go-to places.

My bookclub members chose this location for our monthly meet, and we were not disappointed. From the moment I stepped into the establishment, I was impressed by the beauty! It is absolutely stunning and what I would expect it to look like based on the name sake. But what I have to really talk about is our server, Amber. She was absolutely exceptional. Her ability to make you feel at home was phenomenal. It was really the little touches that she added that made our group feel welcome. We truly appreciated her going above and beyond even when we didn't know we needed it! I will definitely come back here again, and I want to say on the days that Amber works because that's how much I valued her hospitality. Don't lose that Gem! Burrito and Dumpling went here for our anniversary the other week and had a mostly excellent experience. We had the brussels sprouts appetizer, which was phenomenal, and featured a hot drizzle and large, generous pieces of bacon on top. Burrito had her fav, filet, which was perfectly cooked, with a side Caesar salad and risotto. Dumpling 🥟 had the short rib, which left him disappointed, as it was dry, and was not a true bone in short rib, but boneless chuck. He mentioned the dryness to the waiter, and no one ever offered any remedy - it was like oh 🤷🏻♀️ and life goes on, which is not what you’d expect from a restaurant of this caliber. The risotto that came with it was the great redeemer of this plate - 😍like eyes roll back in your head cheesy, creamy perfection. Further, disappointing was the crème brûlée dessert. The sugar on the top was burnt to the point where it was inedible and tasted like burnt gross. Another saving point, the inside is spacious and the sangria is plentiful and delicious! We did a flight and our favorites were coconut and apple. We would come again, but avoid the short rib and desserts.

I recently hosted a birthday dinner here. I like to try new restaurants every year and I hadn’t been to Waters Edge yet. My girlfriends and I love good wine and food, so it looked like the perfect spot. We were a group of 12, so I reached out early to secure a reservation. My group number started at 8 but ended up growing. Waters edge was flexible with me but I did end up having to move my dinner time due to the change in group size (totally understandable!). I plan dinner events for work often and I was pleased with how this venue was eager to accommodate (especially for a Saturday night).The evening of was excellent! The food was delicious and the service was extra attentive. There was a small hiccup with one item being out of stock and they went above and beyond to make up for that. I got the burrata sandwich— SO good! We also got the Brussel sprouts and fries as shareable apps. Everyone loved their food and the wine too. Lastly, the atmosphere is beautiful! Such cute decor! Definitely a perfect spot for a girls night or date night. I have already planned my next visit. 🙂

Fun wine flights - sangria flight is light and fruity, build your own flight is another good option - something for everyone. We especially enjoyed the almond sparkling wine, unique and well-crafted! Braised rib over risotto was perfectly prepared, and fries are nice and crispy. Brussels side, crab cake, and peach glazed salmon are great, too! Cheesecakes of the month were limoncello and caramel apple, and both are outstanding!

Example- Ordered a charcuterie board and he didn’t bring out bread until requested. There were several small things with the server that simply made for subpar service experience. The food was Ah-mazing, our server Kelley was knowledgeable and friendly and timed our meal perfectly. The bistro is beautiful, i can’t wait to share this place with my friends and come back again.
